Hey guys! Hope you had a great week. I just wanted to share a few random things about me that you might not know. I hope my quirky life and characteristics brighten your day.
I am awkward AF: I just can’t get my life together socially lol. I am by no means a social butterfly. If you think I am, just know that I am a duck when it comes to being socially interactive: calm above water, paddling for my life under the water. I will say that I do hold back out of fear of judgment, but that’s slowly becoming a thing of the past. Who has time for that?
I love to sing: I’m the annoying person that sings to the top of her lungs all the time. In the shower, in my lobby, at the bus stop, at work, at a restaurant, anywhere lol. Music has always been one of my passions. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t a part of someone’s choir or ensemble. I think I’m a solid soprano right now, but my goal is to be able to sing all three parts…well maybe just two. Tenor may be too low for me. A girl can always dream, right?
I’m scared of life: It’s really sad, but almost everything scares me. I get startled very easily. You think I’m kidding? If a butterfly flies at me the wrong way, I’m screaming. I’m the girl at the bus stop running around looking crazy because a bee is chasing me. My friends spook me for fun, not cool lol. I’m also afraid of failure, but that’s for another day.
I actually got into fashion after watching the movie Phat Girlz: Before I saw this movie, I wanted to be a cosmetologist. After seeing it, I immediately put my drawing skills to fashionable use. The last thing I was gonna do is have me and my fluffy sisters looking like someone’s couch from the ’90s. I believe I was 12 or 13 at the time. This really inspired me to become a fashion designer or stylist in the future…NEWS FLASH! That’s still my goal lol.
I am a published author, poet, and illustrator…technically: So when I was in kindergarten, my class created a children’s book and one my earliest drawings is in it. Then, in like 3rd or 4th grade, my teacher handed out these book kits to everyone. I completed two of them, so technically I have two children’s books lol. At the end of the school year, the poetry club I was a part of in high school would submit the poems we’d written for that year and put them in a book. I think I have two poems in each book, I’m not sure. I haven’t published anything in my adult life, at least not yet.
I am a grammar snob: Whoop, Whoop! It’s the sound of the police!!! Yep, I wear my badge with honor. Grammar and spelling errors really annoy me. This makes dating really hard seeing that this is one of my biggest pet peeves lol. I can’t even share a meme if there’s incorrect spelling in it. I’m working on not being too anal when it comes grammar, but so far it’s been a losing battle.
I love helping others: I am a helptomainiac lol. I’m super nice and I want everyone around me to succeed. If I can help in any way, best believe I’m there. You name it, I’ve probably done it lol. I know what it’s like to be alone and overwhelmed, I wouldn’t want anyone to feel that if I can help it. I’m pretty sure I can be annoying and extra at times, but it’s only because I care so much.
I’m blind as a bat: If you see me without my goggles (glasses) on my face, I’m probably wearing contacts lol. I’m very near-sighted. I can only see things clearly about a few inches away from my face. After about 6 inches, it’s blur city. It’s weird because I pay all this money for contacts, just to wear glasses all the time lol smh.
I am knock-kneed and pigeon-toed: Just look at my photos, enough said lol. That’s another reason I’m scared to lose weight, the world will be exposed to just how bad it really is. My thick thighs have definitely masked my knock-kneedness. Yes, I know that’s not an actual word. Carry on, nothing to see here. What I can’t hide is my pigeon-toedness. Also not a word, but it’s cool. I get teased for that as well by literally everyone lol. I think it’s cute.
I’m a perfectionist: In the words of Sharpay from High School Musical; everything has to be perfect for me. If I can’t do it to the best of my ability I usually don’t do it. If I mess up anything, at any moment, this wave of fear and inadequacy washes over me and it’s hard to shake once I’m in that state of mind. Being a perfectionist has been crippling for me, but the older and the more I grow, the less invasive it becomes.
Well, that was interesting! Lol is there anything you didn’t know about me already? Did you know all this already? Leave a comment and let me know. Love you guys! *hugs*
